description
Mystical and voluptuous, the Saint des Saints candle was composed by Carlos Benaïm from incense and precious woods, sandalwood and patchouli. Born in Tangier, Morocco, the perfumer plunges us into his childhood memories linked to the land that saw him grow up. Passionate about travel, the perfumer was also inspired by the sacred temples of India, the serenity of sanctuaries, wet stones and the scent of offerings. Its combustion releases first powerful notes of spices followed by deeper notes of smoked wood and sandalwood. The Holy of Holies candle has an average burning time of 50 hours if the maintenance and the wick cutting is done assiduously.

nose reviews

Resolutely mystical, this candle composed by master perfumer Carlos Benaïm leads us straight into the past, among the very powerful scents of incense, balsam and wood notes such as patchouli. Raised by subtle spicy notes, the candle then releases all the facets of incense. Known since antiquity for its therapeutic powers, incense allows with its wake to calm stress and promote peace of mind. Ideal to accompany meditation sessions, the Holy of Holies candle allows to concentrate on the present time and to detach oneself from the material world.

Reminiscent of the world's most sacred places, this candle features a deep and vibrant composition of base notes. The power of spices mingles with balsamic notes, for a candle with warm and bewitching scents that recall the most sumptuous architectures.

journalist opinion

It is like a return to the sources. At that precise moment when perfume (per fume, "through smoke") was used to contact the gods - these sacred and ritualized fumigations are present in all traditions. This candle, made of precious woods, incense and patchouli, develops a humid and enveloping warmth that transports you to distant sanctuaries and ideally accompanies a meditation session, in any case a moment of pause and tranquility. A thousand and one mysteries are exhaled in these velvety incense vapors where the sacred meets the profane.

Coming from a famous family of artists, Frédéric Malle represents the third generation of perfume specialists. His grandfather, Serge Heftler-Louiche, was the founder of Parfums Christian Dior before handing over the position to his daughter, the mother of Frédéric Malle, who took the artistic direction. In order to relaunch the art of high perfumery, Frédéric Malle founded his brand in 2000 and offers carte blanche to the greatest perfumers of our time, that he had met during his 25 years of experience. Dominique Ropion, Jean-Claude Ellena and Olivia Giacobetti are some of the perfumeurs that have signed his olfactory creations.
