Considered as one of the most mysterious and atypical designer of our Time, Martin margiela begins his fashion carreer as Jean Paul Gauthier's assistant and then founds his own fashion house in 1988. He develops a singular universe, at the countercurrent of what fashion actually proposes. In december 2009, an other new page opens up when Martin Margiela announced his official departure. Since, a secret colleague is at the head of the collection. In 2010,  Maison Margiela launches "the Line 3 perfumes" that creates its first perfume in the spring of this year.

Maison Margiela is a "family" where the collective replaces the creator. The product is at the center and incarnation is banned for a better expression of creativity. The universe of the House, its codes and pieces are stated around concepts such as deconstruction and anachronism , the volumes and forms's change and norms are deleted by the predominant use of White. Maison Margiela is a house of reflexion around the use of clothes, the creation of fashion' wear, accesories and scents and more widely around the artistic expression and its proceeds.

In January 2010 Maison Margiela launches the "Line 3", a perfume collection where the first scent is named Untitled. Maison Margiela is involved since its very creation in the fragrances' world and perfumes its workshops with patchouly scents. One year after the House broke the traditional perfumery codes with Untitled, Maison Margiela continues to produce scents by melting the kind with a new Eau de Cologne : (Untitled) L'eau.

In July 2012, Maison Martin Margiela declines its unique fragrance concept to create universal scents that convokes our senses, speak to our imagination and wake our memories up : "Flower Market", "Beach Walk" and "Funfair evening". Created as artistic interpretation by the Maison Margiela' s collective, those scents litteraly capture the olfactive instant and bring back Reminiscences. The collection grows in 2013 with two new feminine scents : "Lazy Sunday Morning" and " Promenades in The Garden" and one masculine scent : "Jazz Club".
